We offer Elizabeth Cottage originally an historic Tudor toll-house dating from the 1580’s, located in the idyllic fishing village of West Lulworth or Lulworth Cove as it may otherwise be known. The cottage stands in its own grounds, it is ideally situated for walkers, with walks emanating from the village along the South West Coastal Path, now a World Heritage Site, stretching from St Aldhelms Head near Swanage to Exmouth. The Castle Inn, renowned for food, is some one hundred yards away and the Cove, itself, is about fifteen minutes walk. There is a local grocery store and several good restaurants for eating out.

A very quaint two-bedroomed oak beamed thatched cottage, still with good enough height, although in places one must mind one’s head – sleeps 3/4.   Calor gas-fired central heating.  No telephone for outgoing calls, but the local public phone box is a stone’s throw away.  Changeover day is Friday to Friday.  Rent includes electricity and calor gas services.

Kitchen/Dining Room – About 10ft square, with sole entrance from thatched porch.  Fully equipped for four persons, it has recently been refurbished to a high standard, with cupboards, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge.  Off the kitchen, there is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and downstairs toilet and shower.

Sitting Room – 14’.8” x 10’ with inglenook beamed fireplace (non-working), tv, 2-seater sofa, two armchairs, coffee table and window seat.  A small walk-in cupboard houses the calor gas boiler and cleaning materials.

Off this room is the door up the stairs, which are typically cottage style – steep and curving where older/very young persons need to take care, although there is a holding rail.

Upstairs – Two double-bedded rooms, one 9’ x 8’6” with 4’6” divan bed and built-in wardrobe space, the other 10’ x 9’6” with 4’6” divan bed and built-in wardrobe space.  Duvets and two pillows per person are provided.

 

In addition, there is a second large bathroom with handbasin, freestanding bath, bidet and toilet plus vanity unit.  Please note that it is the landing where care must be taken with height.

 

Patio – garden furniture and BBQ kept in the shed at the end of very pleasant mature gardens.  The garden is walled with double gates, giving complete security for children.  Parking is off the road just inside the iron wrought gates.
