We offer “Ex Officio” located in the idyllic village of East Chaldon or Chaldon Herring as it may otherwise be known.  This light and airy conversion able to sleep five is one of a pair.  Originally an office and newly converted this year, it is attached to its smaller sister accommodation, “Rex Officio”, yet has its own separate entrances and garden area.

It is typically constructed of local stone and brick with a tiled roof, with flag stone flooring throughout.  Having a dual aspect, it overlooks part of the village on one side and rolling chalk hills on the other. It is ideally situated for ramblers and lovers of peaceful countryside, with walks emanating from the village to the South West Coastal Path, now a World Heritage Site, stretching from St Aldhelms Head to Exmouth.  Four miles away lies the picturesque coastal village of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, famous for its rock strata.  East Chaldon, itself, is a small hamlet but does have a pub offering good food.

Kitchen – well appointed with new units, electric oven with calor gas hob, microwave, fridge- freezer, washing machine, dishwasher. 

Bedrooms – small single (10ft x 8ft) and large double room with double bed, duvet and two pillows per person.   Adjacent is a good-sized bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, basin, bidet and toilet.

Sitting Room – approximately 18ft x 18 ft, this pleasant light room has a double aspect with glazed doors to terrace, two 2-seater sofas and armchairs, dining table with chairs, tv with dvd recorder/player.

Upstairs – double room with twin beds, both having duvets and two pillows per person with en-suite facilities.

Terrace – Terrace with furniture laid out on patio and open plan garden.

Parking – Off road, at rear of property.

There are two entrances: one from the front leading into the kitchen and the other from the rear through patio doors into the sitting room.  Heating is by oil-fired central heating.  No telephone, but the local public phone box is a stone’s throw away.  Please be aware that only vodaphone mobiles may work.  Rent includes electricity, oil and calor gas services. Changeover day is Saturday to Saturday.
